Coordinated Wire Rope: Since 1952, Serving the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach with the Highest Quality Crane Ropes

Wire Rope

Since 1952, Coordinated Wire Rope has been fabricating the highest quality crane ropes made in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Our Wilmington, CA facility is conveniently located to service container cranes in the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports where we fabricate and stock crane ropes for all applications.

CWR also fabricates Diepa Rope, a high performance crane rope. The different constructions of Diepa Special Wire Ropes are designed for specific applications.

When selecting a wire rope to suit a particular application, the following characteristics must be considered:

  • Strength
  • Rotation Resistance
  • Fatigue Resistance
  • Resistance to wear and abrasion
  • Resistance to crushing
  • Resistance to corrosion
  • Rope extension

Our many decades of experience and commitment to quality and safety allow us to recommend the most appropriate crane rope for your specific application.

Flat Rope: A Unique Product and We Have It

Coordinated Wire Rope is one of the only companies in the United States experienced in fabricating and testing flat rope. Used primarily for lifting and lowering dam spill gates throughout various parts of the United States, a flat rope consists of a number of four strand wire ropes laid side by side and sewed securely together with soft iron wires. The soft sewing wires act as a cushion for the individual ropes and wear more rapidly than the harder wires of the strands. When the sewing wires are worn out, the flat rope may be re-sewed in the field with new wire. Damaged or worn four strand ropes can be replaced at that time.

Coordinated Stocks Chain for All Applications

Many chain users feel that because chain is made of steel, it requires less care and inspection than other lifting components. Nothing could be further from the truth! Chain is a lifting component that requires continual inspection and a real understanding of the limitations and removal criteria.

Proper use is essential to the safety of the user. The experts at Coordinated understand the importance of using the proper chain suitable for the application and the environment.

Coordinated stocks bulk chain such as Grade 40 & Grade 70 for tie down and securing loads, Grade 80 and Grade 100 alloy for lifting, as well as for specialized chain for boat anchors, lever hoist and chain falls, logging, tuna fishing boats and others. Let us know your application and we'll direct you to the proper chain.

Choose From a Wide Variety of Specialty Fiber Rope/Cordage

There are two types of fibers used in the construction of ropes and twines: natural and synthetic.

Coordinated Wire Rope stocks a large variety of special ropes primarily for the marine transportation and marine construction industries. They include: ICE BLUE™ COMBO, POLY/DAC™, BLUE STEEL™, 8 BRAID BLUE STEEL™ POLY, SPECTRA┬« and PLASMA┬«.

Some basic factors to consider in the selection of fiber rope:

  • Strength
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Melting point
  • Does the rope float or sink in water (marine applications)
  • Wet strength versus dry strength
  • Elasticity (shock absorbing qualities)
  • Resistance to sunlight (U.V.)
  • Resistance to rot

The experts at Coordinated are happy to answer questions and recommend the best fiber rope for your particular application.
